Back in 1960, in Wellesley, Massachusetts there was a gentleman from New Hampshire named Henry “Kip” Slodden. He was a decorated war pilot from World War 2. Kip was taught general trucking and moving by his grandfather in the early 1900s. During a downturn in the economy in 1960, Kip decided to try his hand at local moving. He was gifted an old model used box truck and some minor equipment, so he decided to put it to use. Colonial Moving and Storage was born. Kip worked hard to provide good service at a fair price. The going was tough financially and eventually, he needed help. In 1968, Kip decided to merge with his older brother, and together they formed Wellesley Moving Services. Wellesley has been operating ever since.
